Service Description
July 31st, 5pm - August 3rd, 3pm Are you or your kids Alone fans? Do your KIDS have what it takes to be on Alone? Do YOU have what it takes to be on Alone? I am amazed to see how many kids watch the show! I hear stories from kids telling me how they go outside and play 'Alone'. It makes my heart sing, as I remember as a child doing the very same thing, except instead of a survival show, it was a survival book that inspired me. Going out in the back woods and making shelters and pretending to hunt, trap and fish for my food. I even had my own mini survival kit contained in a metal Lipton tea can! Now, I'm showing my age, but it's all the same passion. Now kids make their own bug out bags. :) It's at this impressionable age, when kids are so eager to explore those things the light them up with passion! And what about you? Do you have the skills? No skills? Maybe you watched a YouTube video once? No worries. No judgement here! This is a time to allow yourself to be a kid again, opening up to the mysteries of discovery and inspiration. We strive to create a safe, supportive and fun environment for learning and connecting with the wild outdoors. We offer a place, devoid of electronics and a reprieve from modern daily life. It's one thing to watch a survival show on TV from the comforts of the couch, but let's get off those screens and make some family memories, offline. Come join Karie Lee as she takes your through the basic wilderness skills that you would need for wilderness survival. She will set you up with various Alone challenges that your whole family will have fun trying to navigate. During this time together, your family will learn: * Primitive Fire Craft * Primitive Archery (traditional bow) * Knife Safety and Useful Techniques * Wild Foraging * Shelter Building * Craft a Container or something cool * Primitive Cooking over the fire Please arrive on Thursday eve. around 5-6pm. We'll take afternoon swim breaks and go fishing! Camp under the Sacred Cedars in tents or hammocks. More information coming soon. Sacred Cedars is a primitive off-grid campus, meaning that we are not 'connected' to anything except nature. We have a composting toilet and outdoor kitchen. Camping and meals included.
